Police in Kenya have arrested two Nigerian men over the murder of 20-year-old Rita Waeni in Nairobi. The victim was found decapitated and her remains dumped in refuse bags at a rental apartment on January 14, 2024. The suspects, William Ovie Opia and Johnbull Asbor, have been arraigned. They were remanded and will be in custody until January 31. The Canadian government has announced a cap on student permits in the country for the next two years. Immigration Minister, Marc Miller, made the announcement on Monday, assuring that the policy was not aimed at any particular group. The government says it will approve approximately 360,000 undergraduate study permits for 2024 — a 35 per cent reduction from 2023. It made the announcement in a statement via its official website. His father, also a former Nigerian lawmaker, Ehiozuwa Agbonayinma, broke the news on Channels Television last Tuesday.
