A Nigerian man, Oladipo Oshodi, has been sentenced to 25 years imprisonment in the United Kingdom after beating and raping a woman for rejecting his sexual advances.
The 48-year-old was said to have been making advances at the woman at his house in Mayesbrook, Dagenham. He was angered by her refusal and was said to have raped her twice that night before she escaped into the street by jumping through his window.
A report said she collapsed on the street and was helped by a passerby while policemen were informed of the incident.
PC Kayleigh Grafton, a specialist officer who helps victims of sexual crimes, told Birmingham Gist that “The survivor in this case was fleeing for her life when she jumped onto the street to escape this man.”
He was sentenced on July 5 at Snaresbrook Crown Court for two counts of rape, administering a harmful substance, threats to kill, grievous bodily harm, and controlling coercive behaviour.
Recall that in March, a Nigerian lady accused her employers, also Nigerians, of rape. Although she said her employers were pleasant at first, giving her a room in their four-bed apartment, she soon found out they were not.
She said she was taken to a restaurant owned by the couple, where she would cook and clean from 5 pm to 5 am for six days a week, and on her only day off, she did more chores at home.
“The man abused me in so many ways. Sexually, emotionally, physically.
“He raped me countless times because I can’t talk to anybody.
“My life was hell,” she told the BBC.
