Six Nigerians have won seats in the United Kingdom parliament.
The Labour party which won the majority seat in the parliament had the highest number. Eight British Nigerians represented the party in their various constituencies and four of them won their seats while the Conservatives had four Nigerians with two of them getting re-elected
They are Chi Onwurah (Labour MP for Newcastle Central and West), Kemi Badenoch (Saffron Walden), Kate Osamor (Edmonton), Florence Eshalomi (Vauxhall and Camberwell Green), Taiwo Owatemi (Coventry North West), and Bayo Alaba (Southend East and Rochford).
Similarly, Chuka Umunna, a British-Nigerian politician, was elected as a Labour MP in 2010 and later became the chair of the Vote Leave campaign.
