The Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a travel advisory to Nigerians in the United Kingdom or those planning to visit the country.

In a release on Monday, August 5, 2024, the ministry warned Nigerians against joining political processions, rallies or protests. It added that social gatherings must be avoided as the locals have descended on immigrants, particularly people of colour.
It warned them to avoid crowded areas or gatherings, adding that the Nigerian High Commission should be contacted with valuable information.
Demonstrations by far right and other extra-parliamentary groups in parts of the UK in recent weeks have been aggravated by the deaths of three girls and it has spawned an anti-immigration narrative, with particular emphasis on Muslim immigrants or persons of colour being targeted.
Japajantis had reported than an Irish man had called for a ban on immigration after a Nigerian assylum seeker in the country relocated his family to join him.
