Alessandro Babalola is a British-Nigerian actor, entertainer, artist and performer. He is best known for his roles in projects such as Wrath of Man, Unforgotten and Top Boy. Babalola has also been a co-chairman of the board at the Soho Theatre Walthamstow.

Alessandro Babalola was born on August 9, 1992, in East London, England. He graduated from Leytonstone School in 2008 before proceeding to Arts University College at Bournemouth.

Babalola is a professional actor, writer, director and artist. He wrote and directed three plays, including INVINCIBILLY, which premiered at the Wandsworth Fringe Festival in 2019. Babalola also won an Olivier Award in the same year.
In an interview with Killa Kela, Babalola revealed that it was his mother who made him consider a career in acting by enrolling him in an art school at a young age.
“I also got a shout-out from my mum who was constantly taking me to performing arts school… My mum encouraged me to do as much as I could when I was in school. She would always speak greatness, if I didn’t get the part in something I would come home moaning and upset and my mum would just be like, then it wasn’t meant for you, the next one would be meant for you, keep working, you’re going to play so many lead parts, you’re going to play parts don’t you worry son.”
As a result, Babalola began landing lead roles in his school from the age of 14. He has performed in various short films, including Samantha’s Choice by Marie Helene Boyd, which was selected for Cannes Film Festival 2016, and Harry Jackson’s critically acclaimed Stop and Search.
Babalola has also done various Off West End plays, fringe theatre productions and regional productions, including a one-man show Jesse Owens Olympic Legacy (2012, 2016), Othello and Sisata (2017).
In 2017, Babalola got involved in FLESH & BONE (National Theatre, Soho Theatre, Fringe First, Adelaide Fringe Best Theatre and Critics Choice award) with Unpolished Theatre company. It toured for over two years and won an Olivier Award in 2019.
Now in Hollywood, the East London-born actor has become one of the fastest-rising stars in the industry and has featured in several successful films and TV shows. They include Unforgotten (2015), Top Boy (2019), Wrath of Man (2021) and The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare (2024).
