A Nigerian man, Daniel Jesuloba, has urged his compatriots struggling in the United Kingdom to be optimistic things would get better.
In a TikTok video, he revealed that he was kidnapped in 2020 while he was a banker in Nigeria, leaving him with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). He said the incident forced him to leave Nigeria for a master’s degree in the United Kingdom in 2021.
Jesuloba said he had to accept the reality of transitioning from a banker to a carer in his new home but was determined to achieve greater heights.
After building a YouTube channel with 42,000 subscribers and 3.5 million views, he got worked with brands across Europe.
He said when he was almost through with his studies, he learnt Data Analysis and started applying to jobs. After over 100 rejections, Jesuloba took a break and travelled to Paris, France, to restrategise.
He said he got four job offers, with two offering visa sponsorship, six weeks before his graduation.
He urged Nigerians to be resilient, saying things will get better.
