The University of Sunderland, United Kingdom, has announced a reduction of school fee deposits for prospective students applying from Nigeria and Ghana.
Sir David Bell, the Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive of the institution, said students can now deposit £3,500, adding that a new payment by installment plan has been initiated to help students pay their fees more easily.
He also announced a £2,000 scholarship offer to selected students interested in studying BSc Nursing, MSc Nursing and Public Health programmes.
He acknowledged the difficulty expected to hit United Kingdom universities in the current calendar and the next as many students now prefer other destinations after new immigration policies announced by the country, barring prospective students from bringing dependants into the country.
Bell also said the new offers are to assist Nigerian and Ghanaian students who wish to study in the institution to achieve their dream despite currency devaluations.
