A Nigerian man has revealed how his friend was denied into Canada despite having a visit visa.
He said he had been at Toronto Pearson Airport for over six hours to pick up his friend, adding that he was unreachable via his mobile phone.
The man told his story via a post on Nigerians_in_Canada, an Instagram page for Nigerians living in Canada.
He said he later found out he was sent back to Nigeria from the Point of Entry after he was asked a series of questions.
According to him, immigration officers had asked his friend if he would remain in Canada if he found a job to which he answered excitedly that he would. He said he even told them he had been applying for jobs before he left Nigeria and his friends had promised to fix him up with some jobs on his arrival.
He revealed that after his return to Nigeria, he told him the immigration officials checked his phone where they found chats of his friends promising him illegal jobs when he arrived Canada. He added that their details were taken for possible arrest and prosecution.
Some Nigerians who commented on the post warned persons interested in visiting Canada to be mindful of their conversation with immigration officers and others around them.
