A Nigerian woman, Pelumi Nubi, is set to drive from London, United Kingdom, to Lagos, Nigeria.
If successful, she will become the first black woman to achieve the feat.
She announced on Instagram that she will embark on the trip in a car, saying she had been in contact with other people who had embarked n such trip.
Recall that Kunle Adeyanju, a Nigerian, rode from London to Nigeria in May 2023. He departed London on April 19, 2023.
Nubi, a travel content creator, said she will show the world that ‘impossible’ is just a word, especially when someone has enough grit and determination.
The 29-year-old added that the adventure was to explore the beautiful continents in the world— pushing her limits and hopefully inspiring people [mainly black] to chase their dreams.
She described the adventure budget as a significant investment after a year of planning and saving.
She revealed during her podcast interview that the entire trip will cost $15,000 – $20,000, covering fuel, accommodation, and other essential needs. She will travel through 17 countries, heading out of England into France, then Spain before going into Morocco. She will go through the West Sahara Desert, Mauritania, Senegal, and from there to Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Mali, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Togo, Benin, and finally Lagos in Nigeria.
In an interview with Channel Television, she said the car she’s travelling in featured provisions for sleeping, cooking, dining, and washing.
